Matt Speiser joined the PBS NewsHour and WETA as Vice President of Production Operations in 2016, overseeing the technical and logistical operations of the nightly broadcast and other productions. He is also overseeing WETA’s project to renovate the stations studios.
Speiser arrived with a varied resume, having served as a writer and producer with ABC News for 15 years before moving to CNN and serving as Director of News Gathering and Deputy Bureau Chief for Operations. He has been the recipient of several Emmy, Peabody and Cronkite awards.
He is a native Californian, who lives in Maryland with his wife and is the parent of two daughters.
