About the Hosts
After leaving the acting business, Julia Lorenz-Olson found herself in the mortgage industry. She and her husband Philip started their own financial planning firm, The Art of Finance LLC, in 2015. That same year they were invited to pitch a new show to the PBS digital studio family focusing on personal finance called Two Cents. Since then, the show has been awarded a regional Emmy and multiple Telly awards. She has also completed her Accredited Financial Counseling® certification in 2021.
Formerly a theater instructor and longtime Texas resident, Philip Olson left the art world when a recruiter for a financial services firm said “This industry needs more people like you – a people person”. He was inspired to make a difference in a notoriously un-caring industry and began to study for the Series 7 exam in 2011. In 2015 he started his financial planning firm with his wife Julia leading to the success of Two Cents.
